An aquarium in Japan offers visitors the chance to see 450 specimens of fish and other marine animals – encased in ice.
The Kori no Suizokukan, or "ice aquarium", at Kesennuma in northeastern Japan, is located in a seafood market. It preserves fish as they are unloaded at the city's port on the Pacific Ocean, using flash-freezing technology, reports Weird Asia News.

The frozen specimens, made up of 80 different species of local marine life, are then displayed in ice blocks and bathed in blue light.

The temperature is kept at a cool 5°F, making warm clothing a must for visitors to this unique aquarium, even during the summer heatwave.
